SCULPTURAL NARRATIVES OF DOMESTICITY AND MEMORY

Adam Brent Studio explores the interplay between technology, raw materials, and found objects to create sculptures that delve into themes of domesticity, place, and memory. Through a combination of 3D-printed plastics, carved ceramics, and assembled structures, the studio crafts works that balance narrative, history, form, and material.

The Work

The studio's practice emphasizes the viewer's experience, considering how color, scale, and material choice impact the surrounding space. By assembling components into larger domestic or psychological portraits, the work paints composite spaces where optimism emerges from cast parts, baked goods, and kitsch elements.

Adam Brent's work has been exhibited at notable institutions such as The Bronx Museum for Contemporary Art, The Aldrich Museum For Contemporary Art, El Museo Del Barrio, and the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale. As an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design, Brent integrates his artistic practice with academic inquiry, fostering a dialogue between creation and education.
